On August 24, 2024, the Executive Committee of the Alumni Association of the Faculty of Information Technology – Hanoi University of Civil Engineering, in collaboration with the Faculty of Information Technology – Hanoi University of Civil Engineering, organized a seminar entitled: “Skills and Career Orientation for Construction Informatics Students.” Mr. Tran Duc Lan, President of the Faculty's Alumni Association, a former student of class 37TH, and General Director of VSL Co., Ltd. (a member of the multinational Bouygues Construction Group), and Mr. Luong Tri Thien, Project Director of Turner Vietnam Co., Ltd. (part of Turner Construction Group – USA), presented on several technologies and project management processes in construction.

Attending the workshop, on behalf of the Alumni Association were Mr. Tran Duc Lan - President of the Association and other members of the Executive Committee. On behalf of the Faculty of Information Technology, the workshop was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Anh Binh - Head of the Faculty of Information Technology and other faculty members, along with nearly 250 students majoring in Construction Informatics.

A large number of students participated in the workshop.

The workshop went beyond simply providing an overview of advanced technologies; it also included hands-on activities. Students participated in discussions and answered practical questions, helping them apply their knowledge to specific situations. The instructors provided direct guidance and feedback, giving students the opportunity to solve real-world problems.

Students enthusiastically participated in the workshop.

They also shared about the skills that each student needs to have to better serve the demands of future jobs. Therefore, right now, while still in school, in addition to studying and practicing professional knowledge, students should cultivate their foreign language skills and soft skills to improve themselves so that when they graduate they are capable, ready to meet job requirements and achieve their desired salary.

Mr. Luong Tri Thien is introducing the program to the students.

The workshop also witnessed active participation from students through questions and discussions. These questions provided the Faculty and the Student Union Executive Committee with insightful perspectives on students' desires and challenges in their career exploration. This is an important basis for the Faculty and the Student Union Executive Committee to develop more practical support activities for students in the future.

The workshop was a success, with enthusiastic speakers and lively discussions from the students. We believe that the knowledge and skills gained from the workshop will serve as a solid foundation. This will surely help IT students build a clearer picture of their career path and better prepare for future challenges. In addition to gaining a better understanding of their field of study and acquiring other skills, students also receive useful sponsored gifts.

Mr. Tran Duc Lan presented many meaningful gifts to the students.
With the desire to foster close cooperation between the university and businesses, the Executive Committee of the Student Union is striving to connect businesses with the faculty to share career guidance with students, as well as provide them with more information about their chosen field of study. This creates a foundation to help students choose their future goals and orient their studies while still in university. In turn, it helps businesses secure a skilled workforce for the future.
