2. Introduction to training specialization, training duration, and degree awarded.

2.1. Introduction to the field

• Information Technology is one of the top-choice majors at technical universities today, given the booming application of digital technology in all aspects of life, economy, and society. The demand for IT professionals in domestic and international businesses is constantly increasing, opening up vast career opportunities for students studying this field.
• This program is designed for young people passionate about technology, who love creativity, and aspire to master information technology knowledge and realize their ideas into useful technological products and services for life. Students are equipped with a solid foundation in programming, databases, computer networks, information systems, along with in-depth skills in software development, system administration, network technology, and new technological trends in the digital transformation era.
• Information Technology Engineers at Hanoi University of Civil Engineering receive comprehensive training, enabling them to work independently or in teams on technology projects, design and operate modern information systems, and adapt to both domestic and international work environments. Students are also encouraged to develop communication skills, creative thinking, entrepreneurial spirit, and self-learning abilities for long-term career development in the field.
• Students majoring in Information Technology at Hanoi University of Civil Engineering will receive in-depth training in information technology and will not study subjects related to the construction field (such as technical drawing, concrete structures, steel structures). Applicants to the program are not required to have prior knowledge of programming or computers.

2.2. Training and degree awarding time

• Engineer (equivalent to a master's degree: 4.5 ÷ 5 years)

3. Knowledge and skills acquired after graduating from the Information Technology program.

3.1. Regarding knowledge:

• Basic knowledge of social sciences, economic sciences, and political science.
• Basic knowledge of mathematics and natural sciences is essential for acquiring professional educational knowledge and for pursuing higher-level studies.
• Software engineering expertise includes: business process modeling within organizations; software analysis and design methodologies; software implementation; deployment of technical and technological solutions for building and operating software systems; and software project management.
• Specialized knowledge in information systems and communication networks includes: techniques for surveying, designing, deploying, and integrating information systems; methods for designing, installing, testing, managing, and securing computer networks; and the application of modeling, simulation, and artificial intelligence methods to build integrated data systems and decision support systems.
• Fundamental knowledge of emerging technological trends such as digital transformation, the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), and cloud computing, in order to adapt to the practical needs of businesses and society.

3.2. Regarding skills:

• Professional skills in the fields of software technology, information systems, and computer networks.
• Skills in implementing IT solutions, and skills in learning and self-studying to grasp new technologies.
• Skills in analysis, reasoning, problem-solving, and programming computer software, mobile phone software, and interactive software such as game applications and internet applications.
• Skills in deploying and managing information systems and computer networks.
• Skills in applying digital transformation technologies to optimize business processes and build digital solutions for organizations.
• Effective presentation and communication skills, teamwork towards common goals.
• The ability to manage and organize the implementation of tasks in information technology projects.
• Skills in working independently, managing tasks, maintaining a professional attitude, and adapting to a modern and integrated environment.

4. Scholarship and academic support opportunities

• Tuition fee reductions and waivers are offered for foreign language (English, Japanese), programming, and network administration courses at partner institutions of the Faculty of Information Technology.
• There are opportunities to receive scholarships each semester depending on academic performance.
