General introduction
Information technology (IT) is constantly developing and being applied extensively in all fields. The explosion of data, social networks, the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence, and big data are important foundations of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The demand for highly specialized personnel in the IT field, especially in Computer Science, is increasing.
On March 9, 2020, the Department of Computer Science was established by Decision No. 429/2020/QD-DHXD of the Rector of Hanoi University of Civil Engineering. The department was established to support the Faculty in managing the Computer Science major.
Faculty
The department currently has 6 lecturers and 1 teaching assistant. The staff is young, formally trained both domestically and internationally, and possesses practical experience and high professional competence.

Student scientific research
The department always encourages and facilitates students' participation in scientific research activities. In recent years, students in the department have achieved outstanding results:
- First Prize in the 2023 National Student Scientific Research Competition.
- Third Prize at the 2024 National Student Scientific Research Competition.
In addition, many students from the Department have graduated and are working at large corporations such as FPT, Viettel, VNPT, Vin... and notably, many students have continued their research at universities and research institutes abroad.
