2.1. Introduction to the field/specialization:

In today's digital age, data has become an incredibly important resource for many aspects of life. The explosion of information technology and the continuous development of internet-connected devices have generated enormous amounts of data. Data science provides organizations and businesses with the ability to make data-driven decisions rather than relying on intuition. Through data analysis, managers can identify trends, predict the future, and make more accurate decisions, thereby enhancing operational efficiency and minimizing risks. In today's fiercely competitive environment, the ability to leverage data to create a competitive advantage is crucial. Companies can use data science to optimize marketing strategies, improve customer experience, and develop new products/services to meet market needs. Beyond business, data science also plays a vital role in other fields such as healthcare, education, and public administration. Data science is not just a passing trend; it has become an indispensable element in many aspects of life. With its ability to transform data into valuable knowledge, data science is and will continue to play a crucial role in the development of global society and the economy.

Data science is the foundation of many advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and big data. Research and applications of data science can create significant breakthroughs, contributing to enhancing a nation's competitiveness on the global technology map.

The Data Science program at Hanoi University of Civil Engineering combines knowledge of mathematics, statistics, and information technology with specialized practical skills in machine learning/data mining, data analysis, processing and visualization, deep learning, and computer vision. In addition, students gain access to specialized applied knowledge such as the application of data science and artificial intelligence to data processing in fields like bioinformatics, speech processing, smart cities, and environmental science. This ensures that graduates possess the necessary knowledge and skills to meet the demands of the data science and artificial intelligence job market.

2.2. Training duration, training level, and degree awarded:

Graduates are awarded a bachelor's degree equivalent to level 6 of the Vietnamese National Qualifications Framework, with a designed training duration of 3.5-4 years.

3. Program learning outcomes (Bachelor's degree) (According to Decision 1982/QD-TTg)

3.1. Regarding knowledge

- Basic knowledge of social sciences, economic sciences, and political science.

- In-depth knowledge of data collection, storage, analysis, synthesis, and discovery, and the ability to provide scientific solutions to problems in specific professional fields.

- In-depth knowledge of the analysis, design, implementation, and operation of computing systems with practical value, especially applications related to data analysis and processing, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.

3.2. Regarding skills

- Skills necessary for researching, developing, and utilizing computing systems in various fields.

- Effective communication and teamwork skills

- Analytical, reasoning, evaluation, and decision-making skills

- Possesses the ability to manage and organize the implementation of tasks in projects within the fields of Information Technology, Data Science, and Artificial Intelligence.

- Possess foreign language proficiency according to the Vietnamese Foreign Language Proficiency Framework as prescribed by the Ministry of Education and Training.

- Capable of generating ideas, designing ideas, implementing and operating ideas within the context of societal and business needs.

3.3. Regarding autonomy and responsibility

- Working independently or in teams under changing work conditions, taking personal and team responsibility.

- Instruct and supervise others in performing specific tasks.

- Self-directed, able to draw professional conclusions and defend personal viewpoints.

- Planning, coordinating, managing resources, evaluating, and improving the effectiveness of activities.

4. Scholarship and academic support opportunities
