THE FACULTY OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ORGANIZES A CELEBRATION FOR VIETNAMESE TEACHERS' DAY, NOVEMBER 20TH.

This morning, the Faculty of Information Technology – Hanoi University of Civil Engineering solemnly celebrated Vietnamese Teachers' Day on November 20th in a warm, dignified, and meaningful atmosphere. This was not only an occasion to express gratitude to the teachers who have dedicated themselves to education, but also a moment for generations of lecturers, students, and alumni to reflect on the Faculty's development and look towards new goals.

The ceremony was honored to welcome former faculty members – those who laid the foundation and built the identity of the Faculty of Information Technology from its early days. The presence of these former faculty members, along with current lecturers, the Alumni Association, the Youth Union, and representatives from various student classes, created a deeply moving atmosphere of reunion, affirming the tradition of "respecting teachers and valuing education" that is always preserved and strongly spread within the Faculty of Information Technology.

Opening the program, Mr. Pham Duc Thoan – Vice Dean of the Faculty – delivered a welcoming speech and expressed his gratitude to the generations of faculty members. In his speech, he emphasized that the Faculty's development today is the culmination of the dedication, intellect, and tireless efforts of many generations of lecturers. Immediately following the speech, a solemn flower-giving ceremony was held, with beautiful bouquets of flowers presented to the faculty members by representatives of the Faculty Management Board, the Alumni Association, and various student classes. Congratulations, handshakes, and touching smiles made the atmosphere of the ceremony warmer and more connected than ever.

Next, Ms. Le Thi Thuy Duong – Deputy Head of the Faculty – presented the important part of the ceremony: a look back at the formation and development of the Faculty of Information Technology over the past 24 years. From its origins as two departments, Mathematics and Informatics, the Faculty has continuously grown, gradually building its staff, developing training programs, and expanding its scope of expertise. To date, the Faculty has seven specialized groups, six majors and specializations, covering the core areas of Information Technology and IT applications in the construction sector, effectively meeting the human resource needs in the digital transformation era.

In her report, Ms. Le Thi Thuy Duong also highlighted the outstanding achievements of the Faculty in the past academic year: the quality of training continued to improve; scientific research activities and cooperation with businesses were strengthened; and many career connection programs and practical experiences for students were effectively organized. These achievements are an important foundation for the Faculty to confidently enter a new phase of development.

In particular, Ms. Le Thi Thuy Duong emphasized that 2025 is a pivotal year for the Faculty of Information Technology, marking its 24th anniversary – a significant milestone in its development history. She shared plans to organize the Faculty's 25th anniversary celebration in October 2026 and called on faculty members, former faculty, and alumni to contribute ideas and work together to prepare for this momentous event, thereby reviving the proud tradition and spreading the spirit of unity within the Faculty.

The spirit of gratitude was evident throughout the ceremony. Generations of students and alumni presented their teachers with bouquets of flowers and simple yet heartfelt thank-you messages. Each wish and each small gift contained a deep appreciation for those who have illuminated the path of knowledge and accompanied students on their journey to conquer knowledge and future careers.

The ceremony concluded in a warm and proud atmosphere. Though time may pass, the noble values of the teaching profession and the tradition of "respecting teachers and valuing education" will always remain, serving as a driving force for the Faculty of Information Technology to continue innovating, creating, and steadily progressing on its journey to achieve new accomplishments.
