On-site construction experience – Team bonding at Ho Nui Coc
November 22nd, 2025 marked a special milestone for the first-year students of class 70TH1 – majoring in Construction Informatics, Faculty of Information Technology – Hanoi University of Civil Engineering . It was not just an introductory field trip, but also a journey into the profession , opening up new, genuine, and motivating experiences for these future engineers.

From early morning, in the enthusiastic atmosphere of their first day of professional experience, the students set off with the Faculty's working group, including Ms. Le Thi Thuy Duong and Mr. Pham Duc Thoan - Dean of the Faculty , Ms. Nguyen Thi Hai Nhu - Head of the Construction Informatics chuyên môn group, Ms. Duong Diep Thuy , Mr. Tran Van Khien and Mr. Nguyen Hai Nam .
The direct support of the faculty members, especially the Dean's Office, made the trip feel intimate, warm, and full of encouragement for the first-year students.

Upon arriving at the BV INVEST Joint Stock Company's construction site in Hoang Van Thu Ward, Thai Nguyen City, the delegation was warmly and cordially welcomed at the site command room by Mr. Nguyen Van Hai – Site Manager, Lanmak Urban Joint Stock Company, and Mr. Nguyen Tu Xuan Dong – Deputy Site Manager in charge of on-site construction. Their openness, enthusiasm, and professional demeanor left a strong impression, making many students feel more acutely the vibrancy, authenticity, and appeal of the engineering profession.

Throughout the tour, Mr. Xuan Dong directly introduced the students to the scale of the project, the organization of construction, site operation, discipline, and occupational safety , along with in-depth knowledge of design, structural calculations, and especially the foundation that a construction engineer – particularly a Construction Informatics engineer – needs to possess. He not only imparted expertise but also instilled a sense of responsibility, meticulousness, and pride in the profession.

In particular, the delegation was deeply moved when they met Mr. Nguyen Huu Long , a former student of class 63XD12 at Hanoi University of Civil Engineering, now the Head of the Worker Management Department at the project. Mr. Long's success served as a meaningful message to the students: "Study hard, work hard, and love your profession, and success will come. Start with the smallest things."
At the end of the working session, the group spent time visiting the Nui Coc Lake Tourist Area , an experience filled with laughter, energy, and camaraderie. For many students, this was their first trip together as a class, a beautiful memory from their early days at university – where photos, laughter, and brief conversations connected them into a united and affectionate group of 70TH1.
The Faculty of Information Technology would like to express its sincere gratitude to the construction unit, the site management team, and all the staff and workers who dedicated their valuable time to welcome, share, and provide the students of the Faculty with a valuable practical learning experience. The enthusiasm, professionalism, and sense of responsibility of the staff not only helped the students better understand the real-world working environment but also motivated them to strive for excellence in their studies and training in the coming years.
As the journey concludes, the teachers and students alike carry with them unforgettable emotions: excitement, maturity, understanding of the profession, and pride in being a part of the Faculty of Construction.

And it's wonderful that in just one week , the IT Department will be returning to this place with class 70TH3 . This is proof of the strong cooperation between the university and businesses, as well as affirming the training orientation that is closely linked to practice, bringing students to construction sites and projects from their first year.
See you again in Thai Nguyen next week – with new journeys, new experiences, and even more inspiration for the young engineers of the Faculty of Information Technology.
