On December 11th and 12th, 2025, the Software Technology Professional Group (Faculty of Information Technology – Hanoi University of Civil Engineering) successfully organized the first graduation project defense ceremony for undergraduate students of cohorts 66 and 67.
This year's thesis defense included three evaluation panels, acknowledging the significant efforts of the students in researching and applying the latest technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cloud Computing, and Microservices architecture to real-world products. According to the expert panel's assessment, this year's projects were not only technically sound but also closely aligned with the digital transformation needs of society.

The highlight of the presentations was the group of projects applying AI and digitizing management processes. The students demonstrated clear problem-solving skills through their completed projects.

Education (EdTech) Sector: Student Vu Ba Tuan Cuong (67CNPM) presented a smart learning solution with his "Mobile Application for English Reading Practice with AI Assessment". The product impressed with its ability to integrate AI for detailed pronunciation scoring and create personalized learning paths.
In the field of Management & Digital Transformation: Complex management problems have been thoroughly solved. Typical examples include the "Shift Management System for F&B Stores" by student Nguyen Van Dung (67CNPM), which optimizes chain staffing, and the "Online Event Management and Ticketing System" by Nguyen Xuan Dung (67CNPM) with its high-speed QR Code ticket verification feature.
Life Services Sector: Student Nguyen Phu Hai (66CNPM) has digitized the traditional wedding planning process through the "Wedding Planner System," effectively connecting couples and service providers.
In the field of Advanced Engineering: Notably, in terms of technological depth, the project by student Nguyen Van Luan (66CNPM) stands out. With the topic "Website for image labeling combined with pre-labeling," under the guidance of Dr. Tran Khanh Dung, head of the specialized group, the student successfully built a hybrid Microservices architecture on the AWS platform, integrating YOLOv8 to automate the AI training process.
The thesis defense concluded successfully, marking an important milestone in the academic journey of the new graduates. The high-quality projects presented during this defense clearly demonstrate the practical-oriented training approach of the Software Engineering major at HUCE.

The Software Engineering Department, formerly the Software Engineering Department established in 2001, is one of the core departments of the Faculty of Information Technology. The Department is responsible for teaching fundamental IT courses and providing specialized Software Engineering training for students in the Faculty of Information Technology. It is also responsible for researching, applying, and developing advanced techniques and technologies in the field of Software Engineering.
