2.1. Introduction to the industry/major:

In today's digital age, data has become an extremely important resource in many areas of life. The explosion of information technology and the constant development of internet-connected devices have created a huge amount of data. Data science provides organizations and businesses with the ability to make decisions based on data instead of emotions. Thanks to data analysis, managers can identify trends, forecast the future, and make more accurate decisions, helping to increase operational efficiency and minimize risks. In today's fiercely competitive environment, the ability to exploit data to create competitive advantages is extremely important. Companies can use data science to optimize marketing strategies, improve customer experience, and develop new products/services to meet market needs. In addition to the business field, data science also plays an important role in other fields such as healthcare, education, and public administration. Data science is not just a temporary trend but has become an indispensable factor in many areas of life. With the ability to transform data into valuable knowledge, data science is and will continue to play an important role in the development of global society and economy.

Data science is the foundation of many advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and big data. Research and applications of data science can create important breakthroughs, contributing to improving the country's competitive position on the world technology map.

The Data Science training program of Hanoi National University of Civil Engineering includes a combination of knowledge of mathematics, statistics and information technology, along with specialized knowledge and practical skills in machine learning/data mining, data analysis, processing and visualization, deep learning, computer vision. In addition, students also have access to specialized applied knowledge such as the application of data science and artificial intelligence to process data in the fields of bioinformatics, speech processing, smart cities, and the environment. This helps students after graduation have enough knowledge and skills to meet the needs of the labor market in the field of data science and artificial intelligence.

2.2. Training time, training level and degree:

Graduates are awarded a bachelor's degree equivalent to a level 6 university degree according to the Vietnamese National Qualifications Framework with a design training period of 3.5-4 years.

 

3. Output standards of the training program (bachelor's degree) (According to Decision 1982/QD-TTg)

3.1. About knowledge

- Basic knowledge of social sciences, economics, political science

- In-depth knowledge of collecting, storing, analyzing, synthesizing, exploring data, providing scientific solutions to problems in each specific professional field

- In-depth knowledge of analysis, design, implementation, and operation of computational systems of practical value, especially applications related to data analysis and processing, machine learning, and artificial intelligence

3.2. About skills

- Skills required in researching, developing and exploiting computing systems in various fields

- Effective communication and teamwork skills

- Analytical, argumentative, evaluation and decision-making skills

- Have the capacity to manage and organize the implementation of tasks in projects in the fields of information technology and data science. Artificial intelligence

- Have foreign language proficiency according to the Vietnamese foreign language proficiency framework prescribed by the Ministry of Education and Training

- Ability to form ideas, design ideas, implement and operate ideas in the context of social and business needs

3.3. On autonomy and responsibility

- Work independently or in a team under changing working conditions, take personal responsibility and responsibility for the team

- Guide and supervise others in performing assigned tasks
